I am a 20-something mother, IT nerd, Real Housewife wannabee, etiquette junkie, and lover all things that sparkle. I am a small town girl from the Pacific Northwest with big city dreams.
My blog will share the story of what the 20’s is ACTUALLY like. As a young girl, I always dreamed that my 20s would be filled with luck, designer labels, freedom, and a bank account full of zero’s. Watching shows like Sex and The City, Melrose Place, 90210, Passions (oh how I miss you), and Days of Our Lives left me with the assumption that college is a breeze, your career is even more of a breeze, you will have a huge closet filled to the brim with designer labels (from the perfect job that is a breeze to find), you can eat anything you want and never gain a pound, and dating is super easy because there are eligible, single men, like everywhere.
Becoming a wife, mother, and a divorcé all before the ripe age of 25 wasn’t what I expected, but as they say, you never know what life will throw your way.
FUN FACTS:
Happiness is… being a mom!
I was named after… Talia Shire who played Adrienne in the Rocky movies. My dad was a die hard Rocky fan.
Shows that make a bad day better… Teen Mom 2, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill/ATL/Miami, and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the team.
I love party planning so much that… I planned my entire wedding in less than a month. I’m not talking about a last minute shotgun wedding, I mean the whole shebang. I also was somehow able to throw this all together while working a total of 60 hours each week. Ah…the be young again.
My morning routine consists of… Waking up at 5am, showering, getting dressed, getting my son dressed and fed, driving 20 minutes to his nanny’s house, driving another 30 minutes (through traffic) to work. I have to be to work by 7am, so most days I’m racing like a crazy woman through the door at 6:59.
I believe that… everyone is beautiful.
In 8th grade… my mom got me a cell phone for Christmas. At that time it was really rare for an 8th grader to have that sort of technology, therefore I felt like the bomb.com. Yeah, I just said that. Don’t hate.
I’m a sucker for… leopard print, snickerdoodles, glitter, Anthropologie, kitty cats, and candy.
If money wasn’t an option… i’d spend a weekend at the Plaza hotel in NYC.
I want to travel to… Santorini. Greece & Bogota, Columbia.
My biggest pet peeves are… catty women, the assumption that working moms are spoiled and don’t care to raise their kids, when kids put stickers on the inside of car windows, unwanted advice, and nosy people.
I wish I knew how to… do ‘wifely’ things like cook meals from scratch, eat fruit without gagging, and play basketball.
My life… has been a roller coaster ride of happiness, triumph, joy, heartbreak, tough love, blessings, and life lessons.
My favorite color… black + beige + earthtones.
Starlets I’d LOVE to meet are… Jessica Alba, Jessica Chastain, and Anne Hathaway.
Most random experience was when… I decided on a whim to drive from Washington to Southern California.
My biggest not-so-secret secret… I actually do not like the outdoors. I feel like a big fraud of sorts as I try my absolute hardest to rough it and may actually ask like I like it, but in all reality it’s not my cup of tea at all.
